 HOW WE WORK
PAN AMERICAN VIDEO provides stock footage with a great attitude at competitive rates (and you don't get that every day.) When you call, fax or Email your requirements one of our crack staff archivists will begin a search for the perfect material. Then we fax or email you a list of what we have found that might fit the bill. You let us know what footage you'd like to consider for your project and we send you a VHS screening cassette with time code burn-in. (Pretty easy so far.)

When you have selected the shots you want to use a broadcast quality video transfer is made at our lab and sent out - usually the same day.

LEGAL STUFF
Although our library consists of public domain material, the particular use you make of it might violate someone else's rights. For example, the movie Royal Wedding, or footage from it, can be exhibited anywhere, but if you try to sell vacuum cleaners by showing Fred Astaire dancing with one, you had better clear it with his estate. You are responsible for obtaining clearances from artists, unions or any other possible claimants.
COSTS
Here's what you pay for:
  • A minimum fee is charged for the initial search and assembling a screening tape. More extensive research will be charged by the hour. Our researcher will be able to give you an estimate for your job.
  • Duplication fees for the final tape will be quoted on an individual basis depending on the length and tape format.
  • Client is responsible for all shipping charges.
  • A rush fee will be charged when appropriate.
  • Until your account is established with us, payment is required in advance. We take Visa/Master Charge, checks, wire transfers and on occasion, food stamps.

Here's what you don't pay for:

  • Since all our material is public domain there are NO LICENSING FEES.
  • You DO NOT have to return the tapes.
  • You DO NOT have to pay for repeated use. Once you purchase the tape, it's yours forever.
